Braille menus for Thai and Japanese Greetings
On the occasion of the International Day of Blind People (13 November), the Resource Centre ‘Barrier-Free Ukraine’ together with the team of Thai and Japanese Greetings restaurants developed a menu adapted for visually impaired people.
The menu is made on PVC material, measuring 148x210 mm. Each page has a separate dish with an enlarged image, enlarged text, and Braille text over it. The entire Thai Hello menu fits on 71 pages, and the Japanese menu - on 65 pages, which were assembled in rings for ease of use and change if necessary.
It was an interesting experience for our team, as it was the first time we had ever developed a menu. Although we have books in Braille in our arsenal.
The next step is to develop menus for Vietnamese and Chinese Hello.
